One customer commented: “Haggis, neeps and tatties are not to be vandalised in this way! They should be served pure and unadulterated, washed down with a wee dram of single malt! Or, for the designated driver, a glass of Irn Bru. Nothing else is acceptable.”

Another said: “I love Yorkshire pudding and I love a good peppercorn sauce, but neither of them should be within a mile of haggis, tatties and neeps. What a travesty.”

The Coo Shed have since expanded their Scottish themed delicacies to include haggis and cheese scones AND an Irn Bru milkshake.

The Coo Shed, who are open until 4.30pm from Tuesday through to Sunday, posted on their Facebook: “If you think our Yorkshire pudding with haggis, neeps and tatties caused some controversy…… we think Robert Burns would be ecstatic with our haggis and cheese scones.”

One commented they reckon Burns would give the nod of approval, saying: “I think he’d have thought the yorky pud was genius.

“He was a clever man and would embrace new ideas. Can see him munching on a scone on a travel day.”

Another said: “I loved the HN&T [Haggis, Neeps and Tatties] with the Yorkshire pud when we were in on Saturday.”
