A Manchester United side who appear to take one step forward before taking two steps backwards under Ralf Rangnick travel to bottom side Burnley on Wednesday evening.
On the face of it, United should be strong favourites. While the manner of their FA Cup exit was disappointing, wins against Brentford and West Ham United prior to the recent international break had raised hope of at least some sort of consistency.
Still, Burnley have tightened things up of late, keeping clean sheets against Arsenal and Watford and look exactly the kind of team United struggle against given they generally operate with a low block, albeit Sean Dyche’s are at their lowest ebb in years.
Anything but a United win at Turf Moor, however, would likely put more pressure on Rangnick’s position heading into tricky games against Southampton and Brighton.
