Burn's crazy celebration, Levy storms through tunnel and Newcastle fans show class with Sarr

Newcastle United players celebrated each goal wildly against Tottenham Hotspur as the goals rained in at St James' Park.

But nobody more than Geordie Dan Burn who went crazy as Newcastle built up an unassailable lead. The big Geordie got the nod by Howe to stay at left-back despite some observers feeling that it was time for Matt Targett to step into the back four.

Yet Burn put in a big display wth some crunching tackles and well-time clearances. As the game was put beyond doubt with Newcastle running away with it, Burn sprinted into the dugout and threw himself into substitutes and backroom staff in wild celebrations.

This was a day worth celebrating for fans who ended the day chanting about trips to Italy and wheeled out: "Have you ever seen a Mackem in Milan!" on the Gallowgate. Those terrace favourites could be aired in sunnier climes next season.

Tottenham chief far from happy after the game

Some Spurs fans had started heading for the exits at 3-0 to escape their nightmare at St James' Park! In a week in which they have lost back-to-back games, they imploded in shocking fashion on Tyneside.

At 5-0 down at half-time more Spurs fans headed home for an early bath. But with the crisis club now six points adrift, it was the manner of Cristian Stellini's team that will worry chairman Daniel Levy most.

Levy was understood to be against Newcastle's takeover but the likes of Jacob Murphy, Callum Wilson and Joelinton were all already at St James' before the Saudi owners came in. To suggest that United's success is down to just spending power is wide of the mark with Eddie Howe getting the best from many players he inherited.

After the game, Levy was escorted down the stand by security and stormed through the tunnel. He was ashen-faced and looked like a man wanting answers.

United fans show class with Pape Sarr

The Tottenham youngster looked distraught as we was hauled off after just 23 minutes with his team 5-0 down.

For a player who is still just 20, that type of reaction was understandable. But with the midfielder very close to tears after being hooked he was not jeered by Newcastle fans on the side of the pitch.

Instead, he was warmly applauded and encouraged by United supporters as he made his way off. Even with Newcastle five to the good, it was a kind gesture as he made his way past Geordie fans in the Milburn Stand.
