Burley Aldi to reopen this week after massive refurbishment

The Aldi off Kirkstall Road is set to reopen with a fresh new look after investment.

Aldi have recently invested £600m into improving some of its stores across the UK. The store on Evanston Avenue had been closed while refurbishment was ongoing.

It has now been announced it will reopen to customers from 8am on Thursday, June 29. The new look store has an increased space for meat and fish, as well as health and beauty products, alcohol, baby care products and an improved 'Food to Go' section.

Aldi also says the store now has clearer signage. Bread and cakes have been moved to the last aisle to stop them from being squashed and there are also new freezers at the store.

There are 43 jobs at the store at the moment. Aldi says the refurbishment will create new jobs.

Aldi Specialbuys are available there on Thursdays and Sundays. And during reopening week, there will be outdoor items for sale like a small pool, inflatable kayak and kites.

Aldi Store Manager Rayne Hewson said: “The store is looking fantastic, and we can’t wait to welcome our loyal customers back so they can see it for themselves. We’re committed to making sure that the shopping experience each customer enjoys in our stores is on a par with the products and service they’re used to.”

The Burley Aldi opens 8am until 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
