A man was arrested on suspicion of a spree of burglaries, including one where a victim was grabbed by the perpetrator.
Merseyside Police were called to Aughton Road in Southport at 6.35pm on Tuesday, November 2, following reports of an incident. It was reported a man tried to gain entry into a house on the road.
Officers arrived at the scene quickly and detained a man. A 45-year-old man from Garston was arrested on suspicion of two counts of burglary with intent to steal.

He was also arrested on suspicion common assault, in relation to allegedly grabbing a victim of one of the burglaries, prior to being detained by officers. The man remains in police custody.
A police forensics vehicle was spotted on the road on Thursday evening as officers continue their enquiries. Anyone who saw, heard or captured anything suspicious is asked to contact us @MerPolCC with reference 22000806081 to assist their investigation.
