Burger King is celebrating World Vegan Day by selling an inspired limited-edition version of its hugely popular vegan nuggets. Customers buying the vegan nuggets via the app will be able to get their hands on a portion of nine, loaded with smoky BBQ sauce and topped with a heap of crispy onions.
Diners will have to be quick as this special menu item will be available nationwide for one week only. The dirty vegan nuggets make their debut on World Vegan Day, which falls on Tuesday, November 1, and will be served until Sunday, November 6.
Burger King’s vegan nuggets are made in collaboration with The Vegetarian Butcher, which focus on "plant gastronomy, meat analogues with taste, structure and looks of the real thing". It is headed up by Jaap Korteweg who won Dutch Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015 and has gone on to supply the big supermarket chains including Tesco, Morrisons and Ocado.
Base ingredients for the vegan nuggets are soy and plant protein which Burger King says "creates big taste without compromise". Customers can head to the Burger King app to find the special code needed to order this tasty treat in-restaurant or via click-and-collect for only £3.
The limited-edition nuggets are also available for delivery exclusively via Deliveroo which means you don't even have to leave the house to sate your vegan nugget craving. Download the Burger King app via Google Play here or App Store here.
