Burger King is opening a new restaurant in South Bristol and plans to open soon, as a recruitment drive for the fast food chain has begun. Advertised as 'Burger King - Bristol Imperial', job adverts for crew members (who will be paid up to £9.50 an hour) are already live.
There have been rumours a new store would open in Hengrove's Imperial Park as far back as 2020 when staff feared the closure of The Galleries branch. However, Burger King would not confirm at the time if they would be opening a new store. Plans for the new branch seem to be well underway though as job adverts were first posted four weeks ago. As well as crew members there are also shift manager roles, with a rate of £10.50 an hour, plus assistant manager roles, which pay £27,000 a year.
The role of restaurant manager is also being recruited for and the successful candidate could be paid as much as £38,000 a year plus bonuses. Burger King is yet to confirm how many jobs have been created by the new store, but similar sized branches usually have around 25 to 30 staff.

A spokesperson for Burger King said: “Burger King is regularly evaluating opportunities to bring our great-tasting products to more guests in new locations. We can confirm that there will be a new restaurant opening at this location; however we do not have further information at this time. We will keep you informed when more information becomes available.”
A poster with Burger King's logo has appeared at the retail park at the former Pizza Hut branch, which closed just before Christmas in 2019. The branch shot to fame in the spring of 2017, when a customer went in to order food, and found the restaurant deserted. He began broadcasting a Facebook Live, fearing something untoward had happened, and went back into the staff area, and found two members of staff in a back room. The video went viral, and caused a great deal of controversy.
Last year a new food court and bar looked to be lining up to replace the Pizza Hut at Imperial - Gourmet 4, a food court offering a range of different cuisines, applied to Bristol City Council for a licence.
