Recently, there has been a lot of discussion about the importance of corners in scoring goals, especially in the Premier League. However, it is the Bundesliga that is producing the most goals from corners (on average) in the 2024-25 season. According to the numbers put together by Sportscasting.com, the Bundesliga is producing 0.36 goals from corners every game.
Premier League close behind with 0.33 corner goals per game
Arsenal’s recent exploits with corners have brought a new-found focus on corners as an attacking tool. And currently, more and more teams have started to focus on finding new and innovative ways to attack from set-piece situations.
However, it’s the Bundesliga that is producing the most goals from corners in the 2024-25 season. As things stand, the Bundesliga teams have scored 58 goals from corners after 18 rounds of games, at the rate of 0.36 goals per game.
The Premier League is close behind the German league with a rate of 0.33 corner goals per game. With 73 corner goals in 219 games, there is a goal being scored from a corner every three games exactly.
Serie A is marginally behind the Premier League at 0.33 corner goals per game (equal up to two decimal places). Italian teams have scored 69 goals from corners in 208 games.
Ligue 1 is next with 0.30 corner goals every game. French teams have scored 48 corner goals in 162 games so far this season.
Hence, among the top five leagues, La Liga is responsible for the lowest rate of corner goals. The top tier of Spanish football has witnessed 54 corner goals in 200 games so far this season, or 0.27 goals every game.
Serie A tops with 12.23% of its goals scored from corners
When we look at the share of goals from corners out of overall goals, Serie A trumps other leagues. This is due to the fact that Bundesliga has a higher overall goal-scoring rate than Serie A.
In Serie A, 12.23% of all goals have come from corners this season. It is closely followed by the Premier League, with 11.03% of all goals coming from corners.
The Bundesliga is only third when it comes to the share of corner goals out of overall goals. The top tier of German football has had 10.82% of its overall goals scored from corners this season.
La Liga, with a rate of 10.36%, and Ligue 1, at 10.15%, complete the list.
