As the offseason drags on and news slows down, the Chicago Bulls are keeping a low profile. There hasn’t been much to take note of since free agency, as the Bulls have stayed away from the trade market, and the signings of Jevon Carter and Torrey Craig were the only major additions of the summer (outside of the NBA Draft).
But as the Bulls get ready for training camp, point guard Ayo Dosunmu is making some news of his own. According to the Chicago Bulls Community Twitter page, Dosunmu is starting a new program at his old elementary school – Ayo’s Scholars. Every honor roll student will receive free tickets to a Bulls game.

“I want to impact the community in a positive way [and] give them a great incentive,” Dosunmu said. “Kids who normally get Cs or they’re borderline honor roll, it may give them an extra push to help them make the honor roll, and I think that’s what it’s all about.”

The Bulls re-signed Dosunmu this summer to a three-year, $21 million contract after he hit restricted free agency. He’ll join Carter and Coby White in Chicago’s backcourt heading into next season.
Dosunmu was born and raised in Chicago, meaning he’s in the perfect spot to make an impact in the community that he grew up in. And he’s doing just that with Ayo’s Scholars.
