Western Bulldogs forward Sam Darcy has received a two-match ban for his crunching late hit on Collingwood defender Brayden Maynard.

Darcy's midfield teammate Rhylee West was offered a one-game ban for his high bump on Jeremy Howe in the same game.

Darcy cannoned into the back of Maynard after the Magpies defender had taken a mark, with the action sparking a melee.

The incident was classified as careless conduct, high impact and high contact.

If the Bulldogs accept the ban, or are unsuccessful in overturning it, Darcy will miss at least crunch games against the Brisbane Lions and Fremantle.

West will miss the round-13 clash with Brisbane after his head-high bump on Howe was assessed as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

His teammate Taylor Duryea can escape with a $2500 fine for striking Collingwood star Nick Daicos in Friday's fiery clash.

Daicos's brother Josh was fined $1250 for striking Lachlan McNeil.

Darcy kicked three goals in the Bulldogs' 18-point win over the Magpies, taking his tally for the season to 22.8.

His suspension is a particular blow to the Bulldogs given they will also be without Aaron Naughton for the next few weeks due to a knee injury.
