Jeremy Marshall-King is set to be the Dolphins' hooker after opting to move from Canterbury to join the new club in its inaugural NRL season next year.
Marshall-King was unveiled as the Redcliffe-based club's 16th signing on Tuesday, with the 26-year-old taking up an offer until the end of 2024.
One of the few bright sparks at the Bulldogs this year, Marshall-King was set to lose the Canterbury No.9 jersey to Parramatta star Reed Mahoney when he arrives next year.
He has some family connection with Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett, who coached his step-brother Benji Marshall with New Zealand and then South Sydney.
Marshall-King is the second hooker on the club's books, but the first with NRL experience after they locked in Harrison Graham earlier this year.
"Jeremy is a crafty player who will give us some significant experience at some very important positions on the field," Dolphins CEO Terry Reader said.
"He is an accomplished dummy half and has also shown he can play in the halves in the NRL, and players with that skill set are hard to find."
The Dolphins also continue to be linked to NSW State of Origin debutant Ryan Matterson, having already signed several backrowers and middle forwards.
But they remain light on for talent in the halves and backs, having missed out on Kalyn Ponga among others.
The club remains interested in Cameron Munster, with the Melbourne star still contracted at the Storm until the end of 2023.
