Bukayo Saka sends Qatar World Cup message after Gareth Southgate includes star in England squad

Bukayo Saka has responded to being included in England's World Cup squad. The winger's place in Gareth Southgate's 26-man team was never in doubt following a stellar start to the Premier League season, in addition to winning England Men's Player of the Year in September.

With four goals and six assists in his opening 13 league games, Saka has played a huge part in the Gunners' early season form. Mikel Arteta's side sit top of the table and look likely to go into the World Cup break as league leaders.

After hearing the news that he'll be going to Qatar, Saka has responded publicly, claiming that it's always been a 'dream' of his to play for his country on the biggest stage in football.

Taking to Twitter, he said: "My childhood dream to play in a World Cup has come true! Qatar 2022. Let’s go @england #GodsPlan."

The 21-year-old is one of three Gunners to be named in the squad, with Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale also earning the call-up.

There had been some doubt over whether 25-year-old White would be on the plane to Qatar after he was left out of Southgate's group for the final set of friendlies against Italy and Germany in September. However, following injuries to Reece James and Ben Chilwell, in addition to fitness doubts over Kyle Walker, White has been included alongside his Arsenal teammates.

The Three Lions begin their campaign with a match against Iran on November 21st before facing Matt Turner's USA side on the 25th. They will then round off the group stages with a match against Wales, where former Gunner Aaron Ramsey is likely to be involved.
