Building at Boots headquarters in Nottingham put up for lease on Rightmove

A large building on the Boots headquarters has been put up for lease on Rightmove. Roughly 8,500 people work for Boots in Nottingham and its headquarters is based in Thane Road, Beeston. The company remains one of the county's largest private employers and the largest company based in Nottinghamshire.

Last month it was announced that Walgreens Boots Alliance [WBA] decided not to sell the company despite a takeover bid worth a reported £5 billion being launched earlier this year. The decision came after one of India’s richest men joined forces with a US private equity firm for the Beeston-based employer.

The two-storey building is over 30,000 square feet in size and has dedicated parking for 80 vehicles onsite. The building is currently set-up to provide principally open plan accommodation served by a series of meeting rooms and break out areas, together with ancillary toilet and kitchenette facilities.

The advert on Rightmove states: "Externally the building sits within a mature landscaped environment with dedicated parking to the front for approximately 80 vehicles, whilst to the rear is an attractive memorial garden to which benefits from direct pedestrian access from the principal office accommodation."

The site has good transport links and is being marketed by Innes England on the popular website. Back in July 2020, it was revealed that 4,000 jobs would be cut at the company - with twenty percent of the workforce at the company's Nottingham head office axed. The restructuring also resulted in the closure of 48 Boots Opticians stores and was blamed on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Boots confirmed to Nottinghamshire Live that it is "consolidating the space" it has on-site which has led to the possibility of leasing out the space - which has been available for some time.
