(Picture: Google Maps)Alarming footage shows the moment a thug on a moped smashed the window of a £3mil supercar in an apparent bid to rob the driver.
The driver of the Bugatti Chiron stopped in traffic near Hyde Park Corner in London’s Mayfair, when they were ambushed in broad daylight on Sunday afternoon.
Video shows a moped rider dressed as a Deliveroo worker pull up alongside the car, before smashing the driver’s window with a hammer.
Footage later showed the window completely smashed, with a hole in the glass.
It is believed the moped robbers were attempting to reach the driver’s wallet or watch.
Police say they are aware of the video footage and are linking the incident with a robbery that happened on nearby Curzon Street, Mayfair, at about 4.50pm on Sunday,
A man aged in his 40s reported being assaulted by two men who stole his watch. Police and paramedics attended and the man was treated for injuries at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.
We are also aware of video appearing to show an attempted robbery nearby on Park Lane at around the same time of the incident. The incidents are believed to be linked, however enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
