Punters looking for a bit of fun while watching the Budget can have a small flutter on a number of novelty bets on offer from Paddy Power bookmakers.
They range from the usual, what colour tie will Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe wear during the speech, to the more bizarre, such as will he take a sip of water, to the whimsical, such as whether a pop song will be quoted a la Leo Varadkar in his speeches.
A spokesman for Paddy Power gave his take on the tie colour betting.

He said: “With this being Paschal Donohoe’s sixth time submitting a budget, we’ve had a fair bit of form to work off for this year’s prices.
"While some of the public is expected to see red following tomorrow’s speech, we're tipping the minister to don the green, having opted for blue last year.”
Paddy Power make ‘Green’ its Evens favourite to be plucked from the Minister’s wardrobe tomorrow with ‘Blue’ and ‘Red’ also among the frontrunners at 5/2 and 6/1 respectively.
Further down in the betting are ‘Pink’ (14/1) and ‘Orange’ (25/1) while ‘White’ props up the betting at 50/1.
Last year the Central Dublin TD went the entirety of his speech without a single sip of water and it’s 4/6 for him not to quench his thirst again this year while it’s 10/3 for him to have three or more sips tomorrow afternoon.
Paddy Power are also taking bets on the length of the speech.
Here, it’s 2/1 to be under 40 mins, 4/7 to be between 40 and 50 minutes and 6/1 to breach the 50 minute mark.
Finally, other specials include 7/2 for the minister to swear, 14/1 for any minister to fall asleep and 6/4 for Paschal Donohoe to ‘Pull a Leo’ and quote song lyrics over the course of his speech.”
