The Milwaukee Bucks made a statement with their blowout win over the Boston Celtics on Thursday night, 135–102.
The team didn’t hesitate to gloat on social media after the victory, and they made sure to remind NBA on TNT’s Charles Barkley of a bold take he dropped prior to the game about how the Celtics were the team to beat in the East.
Before Thursday’s clash, Barkley claimed that there was no team in the NBA on Boston’s level. Shaquille O’Neal opposed that take, and accurately predicted a big Milwaukee win.
The Bucks quickly proved Barkley wrong, and they left him a friendly reminder of his pregame comments on X.

Barkley has been backing the Celtics all season long, but his prediction proved as wrong as could be.
The 135 points surrendered by Joe Mazzulla’s team was the most the Celtics had allowed all season. The 33-point margin of defeat was also their biggest loss of the season, and significantly so. Entering Thursday’s game, Boston’s largest defeat was a 17-point loss against the Orlando Magic, a margin which was nearly doubled by the Bucks.
Thursday’s win saw Milwaukee improve to 26–12 on the year, and they now sit just three games behind the Celtics for the lead in the Eastern Conference.
