Buckingham Palace 'preparing' for Harry and Meghan to attend King Charles's coronation

Prince Harry and Meghan are expected to attend the King's coronation in May, Buckingham Palace staff have reportedly said.

The couple was invited to the ceremony on May 6 in spite of the ongoing rift between the couple and the rest of the Royal Family.

Staff organising the historic event reportedly revealed Buckingham Palace has issued instructions for the couple to be included in the celebrations.

However, there has been no public confirmation from the duke and duchess over whether they have accepted the invite, which was reportedly sent to them over email.

Talk of whether the couple will attend has been circling since Harry's memoir, Spare, revealed bombshell details widening the ever-growing rift between him and his family.

The coronation also falls on the same day as Archie's fourth birthday, throwing further room for doubt over their attendance.

Palace insiders said that the Master of the Household’s Department and Lord Chamberlain’s Office were anticipating their attendance, proving the strongest suggestion yet that Harry and Meghan would be part of the celebrations.

One source told MailOnline last night: "Harry and Meghan are being factored into all of the planning.... the cars, the seating plans, dining arrangements, everything.

"No one knows for certain whether this means they have definitely accepted - it could, of course, be just in case they do - but it’s clearly not a 'no'.

"The staff are certainly working on the expectation they are coming. These kinds of arrangements have to be made well in advance."

If they agree, discussions will be held over seating arrangements, what they would wear and their security arrangements on the day.

It comes a day after the couple confirmed daughter Lilibet was last week christened as 'Princess Lilibet Diana', with sources for the family saying the titles were agreed with King Charles in advance.

The royal titles, some commentators have claimed, were another strong indication of things looking up for the royal rift, and that we may expect to see the couple on King Charles' big day.
