BTS, ‘IZ’ And NCT Dream: Excitement On The World Albums Chart

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - MAY 01: 2019 (L-R) V, Suga, Jin, Jungkook, RM, Jimin and J-Hope of BTS arrives at the Billboard Music Awards at MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 01, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Steve Granitz/WireImage) WireImage

Just one debuts on this week’s World Albums chart, bringing a beloved all-male vocal act from South Korea back to the highest reaches of the list once again. While there may not be many just-dropped titles to talk about, the most successful band in the history of the tally does prove one more time that they have the power to do things nobody else can with another notable feat.

Here are three titles to pay attention to on this week’s World Albums chart.

No. 3 - BTS - Love Yourself: Answer

BTS always has a good week on the World Albums chart, but some of their showings are more impressive than others...though it does seem like every time the ranking refreshes, the band has done something else that very few acts, if any, could manage.

This time around, the South Korean vocal troupe occupies the entirety of the top three, with two titles returning to the highest trio of spaces. Leading the way once again is Map of the Soul: 7, which is a non-mover at No. 1

The septet’s most recent release Be is up slightly, improving from No. 3 to No. 2, while Love Yourself: Answer shoots back into the top five, ascending from No. 8 to No. 3 this frame.

No. 10 - NCT Dream - Hot Sauce

NCT Dream has found themselves in the top 10 on the World Albums chart several times before, but never with a full-length. Hot Sauce marks the band’s first foray into complete albums (instead of EPs), and fans were there to support the new project...though it doesn’t rank as one of their best-performing.

Hot Sauce arrives at No. 10 on this week’s World Albums ranking, narrowly finding space inside the highest tier. The title is the NCT sub-unit’s fifth to reach the top 10 on the list, and it stands as their lowest-charting, at least so far.

No. 15 - Israel Kamakawiwoʻole - Somewhere Over the Rainbow: The Best of Israel Kamakawiwo'ole

Every few weeks, Hawaiian musician Israel Kamakawiwoʻole returns to the World Albums chart with one release or another, while his generation-defining hit single “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” never seems to fall very far on the related World Digital Song Sales ranking (where it currently sits at No. 1).

This frame, the late talent’s greatest hits compilation Somewhere Over the Rainbow: The Best of Israel Kamakawiwo'ole finds its way back to the list, landing at No. 15 once again.
