A little more than two months ago, BTS announced they were taking a short break. Since then, their hit singles have continued to perform in plenty of nations, many of the members have dolled out solo smashes, and now they’ve revealed that fans everywhere will be able to take part in a very special live event, the kind that only they can manage.

The globally-adored pop band’s parent company HYBE announced today (February 16) that BTS Permission to Dance on Stage - Seoul: Live Viewing, the latest concert film from the outfit, is not just going to be available to fans for the first time ever, but it will air live in movie theaters all around the world. On Saturday, March 12, fans of the septet will be able to watch footage from their performance in Seoul, South Korea together. Tickets go on sale later this month.

According to a release shared by BTS’s representatives, the exact times of screenings will be updated later, though apparently in most countries, fans of the group will be seeing the same thing at the same time. There will be some tape delays in certain territories, but for the most part, this will be a shared live experience, which is apparently the aim.

The same release claims that BTS Permission to Dance on Stage - Seoul: Live Viewing will air in movie theaters in 60 countries, though which nations are included in the rollout weren’t mentioned specifically. That information will likely be made available when tickets go on sale on February 22.

BTS Permission to Dance on Stage - Seoul: Live Viewing is the latest BTS concert film to be released to theaters globally. The group has also entered cinemas in major nations with their 2020 title Break the Silence: The Movie as well as previous releases Bring the Soul: The Movie, Love Yourself in Seoul and Burn the Stage: The Movie. Combined, all of these theatrical efforts have reportedly racked up more than $50 million in global ticket sales. That’s more than many tours by well-known musicians, so it’s clear that there is an incredible demand for anything related to BTS performing live.

The concert is named after BTS’s 2021 single “Permission to Dance,” which became a global smash the moment it arrived. The track, which was only featured on the Butter single album (which itself was only released in certain territories), became a top 10 hit in a number of major markets. In the U.S., the tune debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100, becoming the band’s fifth leader and fourth instant champion.
