Michigan State basketball is off to a great start in conference play, and is considered one of the favorites to win the league by Andy Katz.
Katz — who works for the Big Ten Network — gave high praise to the Spartans’ following their dominant win over Washington on Thursday. Katz said he believes the Big Ten regular season will come down to Michigan State and Illinois.
Here’s the exact quote from Katz:
“Michigan State and Illinois will battle for the Big Ten men’s basketball regular season title.”
Michigan State is 13-2 overall and 4-0 in Big Ten play this year. The Spartans have won eight straight games.
Michigan, Purdue and Oregon should also be in contention for the Big Ten title this year. But right now, Michigan State and Illinois certainly are fair choices to win the regular season championship by Katz.
