BT SPORT have been cleared by Ofcom after an anti-monarchy 'F*** the Crown' Celtic fan banner was shown on air.
The broadcast regulators received 23 complaints over the banner displayed ahead of the Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk.
Celtic supporters had draped a 'F*** the Crown' from the away end in the stadium.
BT Sport coverage of the match showed the banner in a short shot of away supporters before kick-off.
Ofcom confirmed 23 complaints were filed over the expletive Celtic fan banner.
But BT Sport will not face action with Ofcom clearing the broadcaster.
It's understood no further action will be taken given it was a live broadcast with the banner only shown for a brief period before an apology by commentators.
Commentator Rob MacLean said: "Apologies if anyone has taken offence at anything seen in the early minutes."
Celtic were fined by UEFA over the fan banner with another display reading 'Sorry for your loss, Michael Fagan'.
The competition chiefs issued a £13,000 (€15,000) fine over the displays.
The governing body decision branded the display as containing a "message not fit for a sports event (i.e. provocative banner)".
