Gurdaspur: A BSF jawan has been injured while preventing a major blast near the border fence in the Choura area of the India-Pakistan border. The explosion, suspected to be caused by an IED (improvised explosive device), occurred during the intervening night of 8th and 9th April.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, the incident took place when a patrol team was conducting operations ahead of the border fence. The team detected a suspicious object inside a well within the Indian territory. During the inspection, the jawan was injured in the IED blast.
Visuals from the hospital show the injured jawan now receiving treatment at a military medical facility. While there has been no loss of life, this incident marks a serious breach of peace along the international border.
The BSF has launched an investigation to identify those responsible for planting the explosive device. Authorities are currently assessing the situation as security remains heightened in the Gurdaspur sector.
