Bryson DeChambeau delights LIV Golf fans after downing beer from his shoe on the range

Bryson DeChambeau became an instant hit with Australian golf fans at LIV Adelaide, after a downing a beer from a shoe whilst practicing on the driving range.

LIV Golf headed to Australia for the very first time last week, with The Grange in Adelaide playing host to their fourth event of the season. And it was one to remember for the Saudi-funded circuit, no doubt thanks to the rowdy support of the Adelaide faithful.

A sell-out crowd packed into The Grange across the three days of play, and enjoyed a party hole, a performance from world famous DJ Fisher and plenty of beer drinking.

And it wasn't just the fans who were seen enjoying a pint or two, as DeChambeau was seen enjoying himself whilst out on the Adelaide range. In a viral video across social media, the 2020 US Open champion was seen impressing the crowd behind him with a whole host of trick shots.

DeChambeau riled up the crowd with a left-handed tee shot with a right-handed driver, before flopping an iron shot into the air and catching it in his cap. The loudest cheer of the evening though came when the American adopted into the Aussie drinking culture by a performing a 'shoey' - drinking a beer from your shoe.

The fans behind the ropes are heard chanting 'shoey, shoey!', before DeChambeau is handed a trainer and a beer to go with it. After filling up the shoe, the American wastes no time in chugging the beer down to the delight of the Adelaide locals.

On the course, the 2020 US Open champion finished the week in 29th after posting nine-under-par across his three rounds. Despite finishing way off the pace, DeChambeau more than enjoyed his week down under, and paid tribute to the Adelaide crowd.

Taking to Twitter post-tournament the former PGA Tour star wrote: "I can’t say enough good things about Australia. The fans showed up and the energy was electric this week! Can’t wait for next year." DeChambeau and co are straight back into action later this week, as the Saudi-funded circuit heads to Singapore.
