A thug convicted of murdering a young dad had earlier been warned by police that his own life was in danger.
Graham Williamson, 26, was shot dead in his back garden in broad daylight after a feud involving Derek Felvus.
Felvus, 25, James Baillie, 26, and Thomas Duris, 28, were found guilty of murder at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday.
It can now be revealed Felvus was given an Osman “threat to life” warning by police four months before Graham was murdered.
The jury heard that the killing in Blantyre, Lanarkshire, in August 2020 followed an incident in a Chinese restaurant in nearby Bothwell.
Graham and friends had confronted Felvus, who was filmed trying to hide from them.
The footage was uploaded to social media to humiliate drug dealer Felvus.
He had appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court in May 2020 in relation to a drugs charge, in a bid to have a bail curfew lifted.
Solicitor Robert Sheridan told the court there had been threats on his client’s life.
He claimed the curfew would prevent Felvus fleeing his Hamilton home if would-be attackers turned up at night.
Prosecutor Jennifer McLaren confirmed that a “threat to life” warning had been issued to Felvus by police the previous month.
She added: “His mother subsequently made four 999 calls over five days, saying they could hear banging and people outside their property.
“The allegation of drug trafficking is in the context of police intelligence that the accused is associated with organised groups that are involved in some kind of feud with each other.”
Sheriff David Young ruled that the curfew should be lifted.
Felvus was arrested and charged with Graham’s murder a week after the shooting in August 2020.
He and his accomplices will be sentenced next month.
