Brutal Tyreek Hill Fumble Led to Wild Chiefs Lateral-Infused Return for Touchdown

The Chiefs and Dolphins game on Sunday morning in Germany was expected to be an epic shootout. Not only because both squads are the powerhouses of the AFC, but there’s an added level of contention given the fact that Tyreek Hill is having a career year.

The former Kansas City star left Patrick Mahomes and their legendary offense via trade for Miami after not coming to terms on a new contract, and he has thrived ever since joining the team in 2022. But things got off to a rocky start overseas and Hill made a massive blunder that led to an amazing play from the Chiefs defense.

The Dolphins were down 14–0 before halftime and they were just 30 yards away from the end zone with less than a minute left in the second quarter. Tua Tagovailoa threw a quick pass to Hill behind the line of scrimmage but the play was blown up.

Hill fumbled the ball and safety Mike Edwards came up with it. Hill was able to immediately wrap up Edwards, but he made a huge heads-up play.

Edwards lateraled the ball to safety Bryan Cook before Hill could take him down and the defensive back took it all the way to the house for a touchdown to extend their lead to a brutal three scores. It surely isn’t how Hill envisioned being involved in a touchdown-scoring play this weekend.
