David Young was on shift at Modo in Concert Square on November 16, 2019, when he launched the brutal assault on Ratislav Marton.
Mr Marton had been “causing no trouble” at the bar on a busy Saturday night when Young “lost control of himself” and battered the partygoer before dragging him out.
Despite this, Young walked free from Liverpool Crown Court today after a ruling that his health issues and the amount of time the case had remained in the legal system meant his jail term should be suspended.
Young, of Onslow Road, was sentenced to nine months in prison, suspended for 18 months.
He also faces a six month curfew and must take part in rehabilitation activities.
EncroChat dealer used global links to try and climb to the top of the gangland underworld

An EncroChat drug dealer embedded in the international underworld was locked up after his latest exploits were exposed.
Michael Hailwood operated under the codename CardinalTrunk as he sought to peddle huge quantities of heroin and cocaine.
His exploits were brought to an end after a police sting that revealed his links to a network of more than two dozen drugs suppliers, couriers and street runners.
Hailwood - who boasted connections from Europe to South America - offered his global contact list as a way to regain a foothold within the North West gangland after he was released from a jail sentence for drug offences in 2019.
Shortly after being freed he returned to dealing in illicit substances, largely plotting his moves through the protected communications network EncroChat.
When a joint French and Dutch investigation crippled that network in April 2020, Hailwood was one of hundreds of users linked to Merseyside whose messages were obtained by detectives.
The 51-year-old was identified as the man behind the ‘handle’ - or username - CardinalTrunk and linked to conversations that discussed the supply of cocaine and heroin and a trading network that stretched to Scotland and Hull.
Mum finds daughter, 25, dead at home hours after she called NHS helpline

A 25-year-old woman was found dead at home hours after she told a mental health nurse that she had tried to take her own life.
Jennifer Mary Semple was found at her home on Crossford Road, in the Dovecot area, on the evening of August 4, 2019.
Ms Semple's mum had become worried about her daughter and let herself into the house. She found her daughter's body in the living room and called the emergency services.
Today an inquest into Ms Semple's death heard how she had called a mental health support line at around 5.30am on August 4.
Registered mental health nurse Katherine Cartledge, who worked for Knowsley Resource and Recovery Centre, received the call at around 5.30am.
Senior Coroner André Rebello read out a statement to the court which was submitted by Ms Cartledge.
