New judge Bruno Tonioli held his hands up to never watching Britain's Got Talent - and says he could have been fired on his first day because of it!
The Italian blamed Simon Cowell for not explaining the rules after he nearly wrecked some kids' dreams by using the Golden Buzzer DURING their performance.
He joked that it could have got him the axe early on but says by the music mogul that there were 'no rules'.
The former Strictly Come Dancing judge now sits alongside Simon, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon - and compared the programme to A Question of Sport!
Bruno appeared on This Morning and told hosts Craig Doyle and Josie Gibson about his rocky start.
He says the call from long-term pal Simon came at the eleventh hour but has loved filming the auditions.
"This happened last moment, I'd never seen the show," he said.
"Simon said to be 'there's no rules, my darling' - but I broke them immediately with the golden buzzer and pushed it twice!
"I did it mid-flow, and the confetti exploded with the kids in mid performance. It happens, but by magic it gave them an extra push but it could have been a disaster, I could have been sacked!"
Craig said it was pretty obvious the buzzer should have gone off after they had finished.
"Yes, but they didn't tell me about it!"
Bruno says he was very anxious after getting the call to join the show.
"I was petrified, it's Simon's baby and they're all friends," he said.
"Bit it's great. The talent is beyond belief. If it wasn't for this show, nobody would know about them.
"It's completely different (to Strictly) the dances are specific. You have to draw on your experience. This is more like A Question of Sport!"
It was revealed earlier this year in January that Bruno would be joining the BGT judging panel after it was reported that comedian Alan Carr was in the running for the job.
It comes as Strictly Come Dancing was spun into chaos as its four judges 'went to war' with BBC bosses over pay.
Shirley Ballas, 62, Craig Revel Horwood, 58, Motsi Mabuse, 42 and Anton Du Beke, 56, have asked for a wage increase on their already huge salaries.
Head judge Shirley, who is believed to be currently taking home almost £500,000 from a starting point of £180,000 in 2017, and the others, are all asking for an increase of 11%.
This would mean long-time Strictly Come Dancing star Craig, who has been on the panel since it began in 2004, would get a boost of £20,000 to his £200,000 salary.
Motsi, a professional dancer and sister of two-time Strictly winner Oti, is also reportedly asking for a bump of £22,000 to her earnings.
