Bruno Guimaraes sends Arsenal fans into transfer frenzy with message after Liverpool defeat

Arsenal target Bruno Guimaraes sent fans into a transfer frenzy on Thursday night following a post on his Twitter account.

The Gunners endured a difficult evening, losing 2-0 to Liverpool in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final as Jurgen Klopp's side booked a place in next month's final against Chelsea.

The loss highlighted how light the north Londoners are in midfield, with Mohamed Elneny currently at the Africa Cup of Nations and Granit Xhaka suspended, leaving Albert Sambi Lokonga on his own in the centre of the park before Thomas Partey's disastrous cameo in the latter stages of the loss.

Arsenal have been linked with the likes of Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo in recent weeks but reports in Italy have suggested that a deal is stalled, which could lead technical director Edu to explore other targets if he can't convince the Old Lady to part ways with the Brazilian international.

One name that has been mooted as a potential target is Lyon star Guimaraes and football.london understands that any deal involving Guimaraes and a Premier League side is likely to see Kia Joorabchian involved as an intermediary.

And just minuted after the full-time whistle blew during the loss to Liverpool, the 24-year-old took to social media to post a highlight reel as hundreds of Arsenal supporters flooded the replies, begging him to sign for the club. Here is what a select few on Twitter said.

@_AFCKG : "Stop teasing us."

@epidinemuri : "Come to ARSENAL bro."

@afctjj : "COME TO ARSENAL PLEASE."

@VirenH3 : "Please save us."

@AFCMathias : "Come to Arsenal."

@AFC_arif : "Needed at the Carpet g."

@raquelll179 : "Please come to arsenal save my club plsss."

@Layor_Oye : "This guy is literally begging us to sign him. @Arsenal do the needful."
