Bruno Guimaraes 'living the dream' as Newcastle close in on Champions League berth

Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes was able to share a special moment with his son, Matteo, as he walked onto the St. James' Park field ahead of kick-off. The Magpies midfielder and his partner welcomed their son into the world earlier this season and he's already been dubbed an honorary Geordie.

The Toon playmaker has been one of the standout performers at Newcastle since arriving in January last season and has played a huge part in spearheading their Champions league push. The Brazilian has struggled with an ankle injury in recent weeks, but that hasn't impacted his performance on the field.

The 25-year-old played the full 90 minutes as Eddie Howe's side took another almighty step towards Champions League football. Newcastle have just five games left and know 74 points would secure their place in Europe's elite competition after a 20 year absence.

Guimaraes tweeted: "A day to stay forever in my memory! Immense happiness to enter with my son for the first time in our second home. Three more points on our walk. Thank you God for allowing me to live my dreams here."

The Magpies take on title hopefuls Arsenal next Sunday looking to put a dent in their aspirations, much like their last visit to Tyneside when Howe's men denied them Champions League football.
