Bruno Guimaraes insists Newcastle United 'win together' and 'lose together' following their dismal FA Cup defeat at Sheffield Wednesday. The Magpies crashed out at the first hurdle of the competition for the third successive season after a 2-1 defeat at Hillsborough on Saturday night.
Eddie Howe made eight changes to the starting eleven who earned a midweek draw at league leaders Arsenal, and the visitors trailed to a Josh Windass brace shortly after the restart. Guimaraes quickly pulled one back after his introduction from the bench, but the Magpies were ultimately punished for missing a host of chances.
It is only Newcastle's second defeat of the season, and their first since the controversial loss at Liverpool in August. The defeat to lower-league opposition is a rare blot on an otherwise stunning campaign to date, and Guimaraes has issued a rallying call to the Toon Army.

The Brazil international regularly takes to social media following matches, and on this occasion used the platform to encourage unity between fans and the team. He posted: "We fight together. We win together and we lose together, because we’re @NUFC and we’ll be together all the way long."
One Newcastle fan responded: "Love the passion from you for the first goal Bruno. We win together and lose together. Onto the next game lads!" Another replied: "Our time will come. It's why the FA Cup is loved around the world. We are on the start of a magnificent journey. We are going to have so many highs."
Howe's side must quickly dust themselves down with a Carabao Cup quarter-final against Leicester City to come on Tuesday night. Newcastle then return to Premier League action with a televised home encounter against Fulham on Sunday.
