Bruno Guimarães gives his seal of approval after Newcastle granddad gets tattoo of him

Bruno Guimarães has reacted with delight after fining out that a Geordie granddad got a tattoo of him, weeks after he signed for Newcastle United.

The most expensive new signing for the Magpies during the January transfer window, Brazilian midfielder Bruno made a rumoured £33m switch from Lyon to join Eddie Howe's men as they made it their mission to get out of the relegation zone in the Premier League.

After arriving in Tyneside on a private jet, Bruno has now had several run outs on the St James Park pitch, being watched by girlfriend Ana Martins as Newcastle first beat Everton and then Aston Villa on home turf.

And now, as well as inspiring a huge banner from Wor Flags, which was unfurled at the start of the Everton game, Bruno has also been the theme for a tattoo on the arm of a long time NUFC fan.

It was the man's grandson, Owen Southern, who contacted Bruno to let him know of the tattoo, when he first posted an Instagram picture of the tattoo in full view on his forearm, writing: "As if me granda has just went and got a Bruno tattoo."

Giving his seal of approval to the inking, carried out by tattoo artist Stephen Clark at the The Old School Tattoo Co. in Choppington, Bruno shared it on his Insta story, along with two starry eyed emojis, before sharing a second image of Owen's grandad showing off his tattoo, along with a series of winky faces.

Bruno's seal of approval for the tattoo came as former Manchester United star Kleberson backed his move to Newcastle.

Speaking with Paddy Power, Kleberson said: “"He has earned his chance to play in the Premier League for an ambitious club that wants to win trophies.

“Newcastle are a big name in the Premier League. They are a big club that wants to win the Premier League and their new owners want to invest in the side."
