You can't accuse Bruno Guimaraes of lacking ambition since his move to Tyneside just 10 months ago. From the moment he arrived at Newcastle United there was talk of winning the Premier League and Champions League before he'd even kicked a ball in and white.
The Brazilian has earned himself fan favouritism in the north east after a stellar 2022 and may have went up in the estimation of supporters once more on Wednesday evening after talking up the chances of European football at St James' Park as early as next season.
“It’s possible,” said Guimaraes, when asked whether a top-four finish was a realistic target this season. “We need to think game by game, and in the end we will have a look what we did. But it’s nice to get another win here.”

Newcastle remain in the top six following Wednesday's 1-0 win over Everton and have now only tasted defeat once in 11 top flight games this term. However, Eddie Howe continues to keep his firm firmly on the ground when it comes to his side's aspirations in the short and long-term.
Howe has continually refused to publicly announce a target for his team this season, instead insisting the Magpies were taking their campaign one match at a time. That was the same message on Wednesday, just minutes after Guimaraes' Champions League reflection.
Howe said: “I don't think we're looking at necessarily longer-term targets for the season, we're just trying to give our best in every game. I know that's not the answer that you'll want to hear, but that's where we are at the moment.
"We're not putting any pressure on ourselves internally other than giving our best and trying to win every game."
Howe's men are just two points off the top four but face a tough challenge making that jump this weekend. Newcastle travel to third-place Tottenham who have been in fine form before their 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Wednesday.
