Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has revealed he shared a joke with Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Keylor Navas at full time over his heroics against the player.
Forest had the goalkeeper to thank for keeping the score at 1-0 after Antony’s first half opener. The Costa Rican produced a number of good saves in the second half, including one from Fernandes, which he tipped onto the bar.
Navas was, however, unable to prevent United from doubling their lead in the 76th minute when Diogo Dalot was played in on goal by Antony. The Portuguese made no mistake to put the game beyond Forest.

The result leaves the Reds in the relegation zone for another week. Steve Cooper ’s men sit in 18th position in the table, in the bottom three on goal difference. Navas could prove to be a key player in the Reds’ fight against the drop between now and the end of the season after joining the club on loan from Paris Saint-Germain back in January.
Speaking after the game, Fernandes revealed that he had a conversation with Navas following the game over the saves he made throughout the game.
“I just said to Keylor [Navas] that today he only saved mine!” He told Sky Sports. “In the first half the one with the little deflection and the second half an amazing save, another one close to the post.
“The result is the most important for me, we want to get points because we want to be in the Champions League next season, we want to be in the top four this season, obviously. I want to get my goals but first the team always comes first.”
Forest are back in action next weekend when they travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp’s men are in action themselves on Monday night when they take on one of Forest’s relegation rivals Leeds United at Elland Road (8pm kick off).
