Bruno Fernandes reveals hilarious nickname for Manchester United teammate Scott McTominay

Bruno Fernandes sent a comical message to Manchester United teammate Scott McTominay after the Scotland international returned to action after being sidelined through injury.

The 26-year-old has not played for Erik ten Hag's side since the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal on January 22, with the midfielder having missed six matches through injury this season. While he was on the bench for the Carabao Cup second-leg win over Nottingham Forest, he had to wait until Sunday to get back onto the pitch.

McTominay came off the bench for the final 31 minutes of United's 3-0 victory over Leicester City on Sunday afternoon - replacing Fred in the middle of the park. The Scotsman showed signs of rustiness, but his return to fitness comes as a major boost to Ten Hag, with Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek both out for an extended period of time.

After the game, the United man took to Instagram to express his delight at being back out on the pitch. He posted a photo of himself battling for possession with Foxes star James Maddison, alongside the caption: "Happy to be back".

Fernandes, in typical fashion, saw an opportunity to have a joke with his teammate. The Portuguese ace commented on the post, writing: "Welcome back macterminetor".

United fans were clearly amused by Fernandes' nickname for the Scot, with several supporters replying to the comment on McTominay's photo. Here's how some Reds reacted to the joke...
