Bruno Fernandes was seen ordering his Manchester United teammates to applaud the travelling Reds fans after the defeat at Newcastle.
Erik ten Hag's side were beaten 2-0 at St. James' Park on Sunday as the Magpies leapfrogged them into third position in the Premier League table. The home side scored twice in the second period, with midfielder Joe Willock and substitute Callum Wilson both getting on the scoresheet.
The Reds have now gone three matches without a victory - losing 7-0 to Liverpool, drawing 0-0 with Southampton and now falling to a 2-0 loss at the hands of Newcastle. It was a disappointing afternoon for United, who could drop out of the top-four places if Tottenham beat Everton on Monday night.

Lisandro Martinez was visibly frustrated after being substituted during the game, while Fernandes raged at several of his teammates after the full-time whistle. As some of Reds players trudged towards the tunnel, the Portuguese ace ordered them to go and acknowledge the away end.
MEN Sport reported that Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Martinez were instructed to applaud the United fans by Fernandes and assistant coach Steve McClaren.
The Sky Sports cameras also showed Diogo Dalot appearing to argue with Antony, who was replaced by Jadon Sancho in the 62nd minute. However, it remains unclear what exactly the pair were discussing.
United will have the chance to bounce back from the disappointing defeat when they welcome Brentford to Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
