Bruno Fernandes doubles down on prediction about Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho

Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes has double-downed on his prediction about Alejandro Garnacho 'going right to the top'.

Garnacho started on the bench at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon, but with the score 1-1 after goals from Christian Eriksen and Dan James, the youngster was substituted on in the 72nd minute and he managed to score the matchwinner.

With three minutes added on in injury time, Garnacho broke forward, linking up with Eriksen around the edge of the box before finding the back of the net to score a dramatic winner, which inspired wild celebrations from the players and Erik ten Hag.

Garnacho has now made four goal contributions across the last four games and the 18-year-old has vast potential. Fernandes recently lauded the youngster, predicting that he would have a very bright future, and he reiterated that point after the Fulham win.

"He has a lot of talent," Fernandes told Sky Sports. "His work rate together with the talent makes a big difference for us. Coming from the bench, it's not the first time he's made a big impact for us, so we're really happy for him.

"We know he can give us goals and assists. I think everyone is seeing the signs of that [right to the top]. Not just because of his goals or his assists, but the way he comes into the games from the bench. No one wants to be on the bench.

"If you're young or old, it doesn't matter, nobody likes to be on the bench, so the attitude that he has when he comes off the bench has been fantastic. I think he deserves the chances he's getting and his goals are the rewards. That's what football is about."
