Bruce Arians noticed this about Tom Brady in final season with Bucs

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians indicated that former Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady was not himself in his final season with the team.

The 2022 season was not a bad one for Brady statistically. The quarterback threw for 4,694 yards, 25 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He struggled early on in the season but managed to play at a higher level towards the end of the year.

Even in his attempts to compartmentalize, Brady was dealing with a bunch of things off the field as well. His divorce from Gisele Bündchen remained a hot topic in the news and the media blitz because it was something that lasted throughout the season.

Between the up-and-down play and his issues off the field, Arians noticed a different Brady.

“Tom wasn’t himself, you know, with all the things that were going on,” Arians said, when appearing on “The Rich Eisen Show.” “And I’ve got to give him all the credit in the world for battling through what he went through last year for his teammates. I think the world of him, but it wasn’t the real Tom Brady out there.”

Brady finished a mini-run in Tampa Bay that saw him throw for 14,643 yards, and 33 touchdowns. He won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers in a three-year tenure. If nothing else, Brady at least got one ring out of his time in Tampa Bay.
