The Cleveland Browns added some depth to the offensive line Thursday after the team announced it signed tackle Leroy Watson.
Watson, a 2022 undrafted free agent from UTSA, spent his whole rookie season as well as this season on the San Francisco 49ers practice squad. He did not see any snaps in the regular season. Watson had a 76.0 Pro Football Focus grade during the 2022 preseason and a 50.4 grade during the 2023 offseason.
The 25-year-old Watson will likely be a backup for either Jedrick Wills or Dawand Jones in Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals, Neither Wills nor Jones practiced Wednesday while they dealt with foot/ankle and shoulder injuries, respectively.
