A quick turnaround after selecting UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, the Cleveland Browns have now selected Northwestern cornerback Cameron Mitchell with pick no. 142 in the 2023 NFL draft. And fun fact about Mitchell: his best friend is none other than Browns cornerback Greg Newsome II.
As the Browns look for a player who can play in the nickel, Mitchell fits the bill. One thing we have learned from the Browns since Andrew Berry took over as general manager: they will never turn down more depth in the secondary.
They do just that here as they land the best friend and former (and now current) teammate of Newsome.
