Browns rookie DT Mike Hall Jr. placed on Commissioner’s Exempt list

Cleveland Browns rookie and former Ohio State defensive tackle Michael Hall Jr., who was arrested Aug. 13 and booked on a first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence charge, was placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt list on Tuesday, the team announced. This was anticipated given the nature of Hall’s arrest and how seriously the NFL takes domestic violence in any form.

Back in August Hall was arrested after he allegedly threatened his fiancée with a gun during a fight, according to police reports.  A woman also claimed Hall pushed her daughter and hit her with a baby bottle. The woman was not injured and Hall left the scene.

Hall’s admission onto the Commissioner’s Exempt list means he will be ineligible to play, practice, or attend games in any form until the exemption is listed. This is disappointing news for Browns fans but even more disappointing behavior from Hall, who will now have to have the start of his NFL rightfully delayed.
