It has been quite a roller coaster ride for 2021 NFL Draft sixth round pick Richard LeCounte III. Making the final-53 man roster, LeCounte III was later released when the Browns re-claimed offensive guard Drew Forbes off of waivers. LeCounte III then cleared waivers and was added back to the practice squad.
Today, LeCounte III has been released from the Browns’ practice squad, opening up a spot on their reserves. LeCounte has been nothing more than a special teams contributor for the Browns over the past year and a half. This team does recycle bottom-of-the-roster players and practice squad guys, however, so LeCounte’s time in Cleveland may not be completely over.
This could also mean they anticipate Dakota Allen clearing waivers after being released from the 53-man roster yesterday.
