Browns RB John Kelly Jr. leaves Ravens game with groin injury

Cleveland Browns running back John Kelly Jr. is questionable to return to the game against the Baltimore Ravens with a groin injury. The running back was hurt during the first quarter.

Kelly signed with the Browns earlier in the week. The Browns signed him to replace Pierre Strong Jr. and Jerome Ford who were placed on injured reserve. Kelly has a lot of familiarity with the Browns. He has bounced on and off the roster for the past five seasons. He was a staple of the practice squad for years. Kelly has recorded only 13 yards on two carries with the Browns in his career.

Kelly is a smooth runner who lacks the top speed to score a touchdown on any play. He is a talented running back, and hopefully he can see the field today. The running back needs the opportunity to prove to the NFL that he is still an efficient runner.

The Browns must rely on their new additions in the running back room if Kelly cannot return.
