Browns’ playoff probability can rise to 92 percent with win vs. Bears

Already holding the fifth seed in the AFC and an 81 percent chance to make the playoffs, the Cleveland Browns can see their playoff probability take another 10 percent increase with a win against the Chicago Bears.

According to Sumer Sports, a win against the Bears would virtually seal Cleveland’s fate as a playoff team. Using their Playoff Probability Leverage metric, the Browns sit ninth in chances to make the playoffs, and are well ahead of the Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills, and Denver Broncos.

Those three teams have the next highest probability to make the playoffs out of the AFC, and none of them sit with their chances above 60 percent currently.

Despite all of the injuries the Browns have endured this season, and despite all of the names that have rotated in at the quarterback position, what head coach Kevin Stefanski has been able to do with this team has been nothing short of a miracle. For once, the Browns are an extremely well-coached and well-ran organization in 2023.
