James Hudson will be making his second start on the year at right tackle as Jack Conklin continues to ease back onto the field from a season-ending knee injury a year ago. This is not all bad news for the Cleveland Browns, however, as Hudson played a high-quality game against the Carolina Panthers a week ago.
Buy Browns TicketsIf Hudson continues to play well, he may work the Browns into a good problem where they may have to begin reaching out to other tackle-needy teams to see what they would pay for Conklin. The Browns’ offensive line depth continues to be a bright spot on their roster as they are not sweating bullets over the absence of the two-time All-Pro right tackle in Conklin.
Going against the likes of Carl Lawson, John Franklin-Myers, and first round rookie Jermaine Johnson, Hudson has a chance to potentially outright snatch the right tackle job for the Browns while Conklin continues to recover. The Browns should have their way with the New York Jets today, and trench play will go a long way in ensuring that.
Two injury notes from Cleveland, per sources:#Jets TE C.J. Uzomah, who was listed as doubtful with a hamstring injury, won’t play today.
Neither will #Browns OT Jack Conklin, who was listed as questionable as he continues to make his way back from knee surgery.
