The Cleveland Browns got a handful of key contributors back from injury this week, but left tackle Jedrick Wills was not one of them. Despite his four weeks coming to an end on Injured Reserve, the minimum time a player must be designated, Wills is still not quite ready to return. Head coach Kevin Stefanski has stated that they will know later in the week whether or not Wills will be healthy enough to open his practice window to return.
Wills was carted off of the field with a knee injury in their Week 9 win over the Arizona Cardinals. He was later diagnosed with a high-grade MCL sprain, a low-grade PCL sprain, and bone bruises.
Given that he has yet to be designated to return despite cornerback Cameron Mitchell’s designation indicates that Wills will need more time to recover. Veteran Geron Christian has started at left tackle since Wills’ injury and has done a valiant job protecting the various quarterbacks who have been under center in that span.
