Cleveland Browns linebacker Anthony Walker could return sooner rather than later after head coach Kevin Stefanski said Walker wouldn’t go to injured reserve.
Walker suffered a hamstring injury in Week 11 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and did not return. Stefanski previously said Walker’s injury would be week-to-week.
An injured reserve designation would have meant Walker would miss a minimum of four games. Now that that isn’t going to happen, the insinuation is the injury might not be as bad and that Walker could return sooner rather than later. However, this doesn’t mean Walker will suit up for Week 12 against the Denver Broncos.
If Walker doesn’t play in Week 12, veteran backup linebacker Sione Takitaki will likely take his place in the starting lineup. Takitaki replaced Walker after he left during the Steelers game.
Walker started every game this season for Cleveland – his third with the Browns – and registered 36 combined tackles and one defended pass in 10 games this season.
