Cleveland Browns punter Corey Bojorquez left the game against the Houston Texans with a quad injury. The punter injured himself on a kickoff after replacing Dustin Hopkins, who injured himself on a kickoff earlier in the game.
D’Anthony Bell, the starting safety and special team ace, is now the kicker on kickoffs. The Browns have had multiple kickoffs so far as the offense has scored five touchdowns on the day.
The Browns have had bad injury luck this week, losing both specialists. Hopefully, the injuries to both players are not too severe. Bojorquez and Hopkins are having career years and are in the race for end-of-the-season awards.
The Browns will have a hard time replacing either of the two this late in the season. It’s taken multiple years to find special team aces of their caliber. The Browns need a strong special teams unit to compete in the playoffs next month.
