After five years with the Cleveland Browns in a variety of roles, most recently as the assistant wide receivers coach, Callie Brownson is now leaving to team up with USA Football.
Taking on the role of Senior Director of High Performance and National Team Operations, Brownson will now play a key role for USA Football just as flag football gets added to the upcoming Olympics. This provides another staff opening for the Browns as they look to also fill their void at offensive coordinator.
The CEO of USA Football, Scott Hallenbeck, released the following statement:
“USA Football is thrilled to welcome Callie Brownson to our staff as our Senior Director of High Performance & National Team Operations… Callie has been part of the USA Football family for many years, and her leadership, athlete development and program building skills as part of our U.S. National Teams have consistently stood out throughout the past decade. Her expertise and experience across all levels of the sport, along with her understanding of the aspects of competition, team dynamics and logistics unique to the international game, will be invaluable as football enters the most internationally competitive period in the sport’s history.”
Head coach Kevin Stefanski had this to say on the departure of his former Chief of Staff and assistant wide receivers coach:
“Callie has been a valuable member of our coaching staff for the last five seasons, and it’s been rewarding to see her growth… We appreciate her many contributions to our team and look forward to seeing her continue to serve and grow our sport at USA Football.”
Best of luck to Callie in her next endeavor!
