Browns Announce Starting QB Decision for Seahawks Game Amid Deshaun Watson Injury Issues

As uncertainty continues to swirl around the Browns’ quarterback situation, Cleveland will turn once again to its backup on Sunday.

The Browns will start quarterback PJ Walker against the Seahawks, Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski announced in a press conference Wednesday.

Walker, 28, has played in two games for the Browns this season. On Oct. 15, he started and steered Cleveland to a 19–17 upset of the 49ers; a week later, he relieved injured quarterback Deshaun Watson and helped the Browns beat the Colts 39–38.

Despite taking part in two wins, Walker has yet to throw a touchdown this season against three interceptions.

Watson, on the other hand, has been battling a recurrent shoulder injury this season. Stefanski indicated to reporters that residual swelling remained in Watson's shoulder and he would not practice ahead of Cleveland's matchup with Seattle.

In his first full season with the Browns after serving an 11-game suspension in 2022 stemming from multiple sexual misconduct allegations against him, Watson has thrown four touchdowns against three interceptions.
