Browns: Amari Cooper does what leaders do and owns up to onside kick

While Amari Cooper was a star offensively with nine catches for 101 yards and a touchdown against the New York Jets, the Cleveland Browns lost out on an onside kick that may have directly been his responsibility. And just as leaders do, Cooper is owning up to it regardless of whose fault it was.

Cooper had this to say: “[It was] my play to make, I didn’t make it.”

The former Dallas Cowboys receiver who the Browns acquired for a fifth rounder this offseason is the second leader to step up and take a bullet. Yesterday it was linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. who jumped on the sword with the media when discussing blown coverages that have plagued this defense.

The Browns have no choice but to let this loss go as the Pittsburgh Steelers are in town in two days from now.
